“Right to Recover” Hero Film and Online Video

In the midst of Covid19 we recognized a pretty huge flaw in the way we work and the rights of workers. As low wage workers were urged to stay home if they're sick, we quickly realized that many of them just can't financially. So we took the problem to Theraflu and they were really excited to help. Considering this issue dramatically affects women of colour, we wanted the campaign to come from someone that understood the problem intimately. So we asked Suzen Baraka, an Emmy award winning poet, to write a spoken word homage to the women in her life that struggle with sick days.

 


 

Giving away sick days.

The most important piece to this campaign is how we're giving back. In partnership with the Good+ Foundation Theraflu was able to give people back the sick days they need to get better. At $150 a day, we helped thousands of families through these donations. Families learned about the fund through our awareness and applied for sick days through our website and through the Good+ Foundation.

Way beyond product.

This was actually a really long journey, working to show GSK that giving back and taking a stand on an issue gets noticed. I'm proud to be part of the team that brought this to life. It took a lot of bravery and a lot of trust. And in the end it really feels worth it.
